Lovina to Amed drive

sunny 28 °C

We then settled the bills and set off for Amed … the road was mad and half of it was just under construction so when we need to go back on 10th I will come back a different way….
The road was fascinating as always . We crossed many children preparing for their long walk on 17th August .. We saw some nice temples and we finally arrived in Amed at about 11ish…
Amed is a long stretch of lovely bays with sand or rocks and which has a lots of homestays and hotels… I wanted to go to the hotels next to the Japanese wreck that is sunk during the WWII same as the Tumlamben ship wreck… So we found a lovely hotel on the hill with amazing views into the sea… Not cheap and no hot water but then the people are very nice and the room is typical Balinese… so we took it and we will probably stay 3 nights here…
We went snorkelling as soon as we got there as I was eager to see the ship wreck and see if the kids took to it as I would like to get them to do a dive baptism in the Liberty Wreck in Tumlamben.
The snorkelling was fab .. we saw so many fishes, trigger fish, box fish, napoleon fish, parrot fish and many many more.. the corals are soft and hard and the ship wreck is just very cool .. You go to the beach and walk on the pebbles for 10 meters and when you get in the sea the boat is there 3 meters away … The deepest of the boat must be at a maximum of 5 meters which means you can really see it all when you snorkel….The kids loved it and we went to the dive place and Teo is able to do a dive but nor Hayden so we will get Teo to do some in Tumlamben and the Gilis .. and we will get Hayden to snorkel instead.
In the hotel there is that little 6 years old girl called Iona who is from an American father and a beautiful Balinese lady.. she loved Teo and Hayden and has adopted them .. Iona took them to her swimming pool and came with us the afternoon…She showed us another beach with beautifully fine black and coarse white sand… beautiful and a great place to swim.. We saw all the fishermen coming back and made a massive sand castle.. Just great.
We then came back for diner and are now in our room doing all our diaries after a lovely diner…
