Salta Tour - Purnamaca back to Salta

Day 3

sunny 23 °C

In the morning Santos came to say goodbye as he was off to Bolivia with some clients so we were to join a group in a microbus. We first stopped to take the picture of the seven colours mountain. The legend says that when god made the qoeld he wiped his fingers on this mountains, hence the name of the painter's palette.

This village has a festival in February that last a month where couples decide to give each other freedom for a night so they can try other people!!!! How funny...

This village has also got some interesting traditions whereby couples who were created during that festival have 3 years to see if they are meant for each other.. If in the 3 years the woman is not happy with the man she can deliver him back to his family, and similarly if the man is not happy with the woman he can deliver her back to her family. If in between they have a kid, they the kid gets given to the man's family as it is deemed to be his fault that the baby was conceived. How about that then!

We then left to go back to Salta via Jujuy (not a lot to see there)...
