Little Rock Visit - Arkansas

Museum of discovery

rain 16 °C

We arrived under the rain in Little Rock, capital of Arkansas and pretty much left the following day under the rain too!!!

So we looked for a cool place to be with the kids indoor and saw that the Museum of Discovery was well rated....

It is a pretty amazing museum, like you must know by now, nearly all the museums we visited in the USA so far :)...

The entrance leads to a great maze of tubes that can be connected or not and the kids put balls and scraves through to see where they go..

Amed coastal drive ... a jewel

sunny 28 °C

Today was just amazing…

We woke up early and went to see the boats come back from fishing in the little cove… They did not have a great catch and Hayden was a little upset as he did not see that many fishes..

We then went back for breakfast and had our usual banana pancake and coffee for me and scrambled eggs and hot chocolate for the kids … We the had a chat to Georges the American owner to see what was nice to see and where we should go as I wanted to see the Royal Pools in Tirtagangha and the Water Palace of Ujung… but I fancied something local… He told us about a fresh water pool where local wash themselves next to a temple a few minutes away from Ujung so I decided we should go there for a swim.

Iona wanted to come with us but her mother wanted to give some offering in the temple so she said she would be back in 1 hour… when they left Georges warned us that the Balinese 21 hour might well mean 3 hours!!! So I laughed as we are in no rush … we went for a quick snorkel in the see and saw the ship wreck again .. so cool and so beautiful fishes there .. really best place so far for snorkelling in Bali. We met an Irishman on holiday with his Dutch wife and their son.. we had a chat and then we went back to get ready .. It was 12 so we decided to have lunch before going…

At 1 I thought we should make a move and we took the coastal road that goes from Amed to Amalpuna which is the most picturesque road in Bali so far as well… it is all twisted and the sceneries with the sea and the cliffs and all the little villages spared from tourism was just breath-taking… It was a shame I could not take pictures and I needed to concentrate to avoid all the pot holes like half the road had disappeared. The people we crossed were all really friendly and always saying hello and it was just beautiful…
